History

DiagnoSearch Life Sciences has a rich history in providing clinical trials management services in India. The Mumbai-based company, DiagnoSearch Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, began as a central laboratory, quickly expanding to become a full-service contract research organization focusing exclusively on ICH-GCP clinical trials. Founded in 1995 by Dr. Vasudeo Ginde, former head of clinical research for Eli Lilly (India), it was one of the first Indian CROs to participate in global clinical trials. DiagnoSearch Life Sciences provided a full range of clinical trials management services - including clinical monitoring, clinical data management, and central laboratory services. DiagnoSearch also developed and maintained relationships with leading physician investigators throughout India, which remain in place today. In the period 1996 to 2003 the company conducted numerous clinical trials, which contributed to global data submissions.

In October 2003, DiagnoSearch was acquired by iGATE Corporation (NASDAQ: IGTE) to anchor its life sciences division. As a leader in business process outsourcing services and information technology solutions, iGATE's vision was to extend the unique advantages of India to the clinical research and development market.iGATE Corporation also acquired the Pittsburgh-based company, Pittsburgh Clinical Research Network (PCRN), which was a research site services provider established in 1997 and wholly owned by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. PCRN provided a business-friendly interface allowing biopharmaceutical companies to effectively utilize the resources of a complex academic medical center. These acquired companies were merged to form iGATE Clinical Research International.

In April 2008, Dr. Vasudeo Ginde, Founder and President of iGATE Clinical Research International exercised his management "buy-back" option in iGATE Clinical Research International and re-established his ownership control over the company. The company has now gone back to its original name "DiagnoSearch Life Sciences Pvt Ltd".

Today DiagnoSearch Life Sciences is ranked as one of the leading CROs in India and has received international recognition by the pharmaceutical industry for excellence in clinical trials management.
